Flying to Helsinki-Vantaa airport (followed by flight or train/bus to Jyväskylä)
Finnair and various other airlines have regular flights to Helsinki from all major cities in Europe. See for example: http://www.finnair.com/INT/GB/Home. From Helsinki one can fly directly to Jyväskylä and Tampere or use trains and busses to reach Jyväskylä city.
Flying to Tampere-Pirkkala airport (followed by train or bus to Jyväskylä)
The nearest international airport is situated in Tampere, a 2 hour drive from Jyväskylä. Many airlines, including SAS, Blue1 and Ryanair fly from many places in Europe to Tampere and Helsinki with reasonable prices. Tampere-Pirkkala International Airport is 20 minutes from Tampere centre where there are train and bus connections to Jyväskylä.
Flying to Jyväskylä
Jyväskylä Airport is situated 21 km north of Jyväskylä city centre. To fly to Jyväskylä, the most used route is via Helsinki Airport. Flights are operated chiefly by the national carrier Finnair. By train or bus
Trains to Jyväskylä
All trains and buses arrive at Jyväskylä train centre (Jyväskylä Travel Centre). Taxies are located behind the Travel Centre if you wish to travel by taxi to the conference location at Agora, Mattilanniemi 2, 40100 Jyväskylä.
VR is the Finnish National Railway company offering high-speed express train services to many cities and towns in Finland.
If you enter Finland via the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, you can take the local train to the main railway station in Helsinki, Pasila or in Tikkurila to board a train to Jyväskylä. The train from Helsinki to Jyväskylä takes 3-4 hours.
If you enter Finland via Tampere-Pirkkala airport, you need to get to the Tampere railway station to board a train to Jyväskylä.

Buses to Jyväskylä
Bus is probably the cheapest but definitely the most time consuming way to travel. There are a number of national bus routes served by different companies that have connections with Jyväskylä. Travel time by bus is approx. 4 hours from Helsinki to Jyväskylä.
You can board a bus straight from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Jyväskylä. The buses can be a little cheaper than the train, but they will generally take longer and require 1-3 changes. You can plan your trip with the help of the websites mentioned. There is also a ground transport information desk at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport that can help you find the best connections once you have arrived.
Buses also leave regularly from Tampere bus station to Jyväskylä. The trip takes from 2 to 4 hours.
