What is SOMERI?
SOMERI is a network for scholars, public service professionals and business experts as well as other interested actors in the field of social media and digital research. SOMERI provides a forum for exchanges and cooperation for social media professionals in both academia and business. Established in 2013, SOMERI has organized five national seminars on the issues of research and use of social media. The latest SOMERI event, “Social media data collection and utilization”, took place in Jyväskylä on Friday 24th November 2017.
Why is SOMERI important?
Currently, there is insufficient cooperation between enterprises and researchers in the field of social media. Utilizing social media research in business scenarios would provide companies with more innovative services and solutions to meet the needs of their business partners and customers. With the help of the right tools, researchers would be able to produce even better research in the future. The goal is to create an international network where academic and business professionals share research knowledge and innovations, create contacts and carry out co-operative projects.
